Educational Permit Granted for Igor (the Screech Owl)!

We are so very excited that we have been granted permission to keep the Screetch Owl that was un-releaseable, now known as Igor! He is blind in one eye, so he cannot go back into the wild. We will be using him as an educational bird. Come meet Igor, and some other very cool birds, this Saturday, May 4th, at the Cape Fear Raptor Center booth at the Pender County Spring Fest in Burgaw, NC. The festival runs from 9am to 4pm in Burgaw on the Courthouse lawn. The booth will be located on the Freemont Street side, next to the Horton Farm pony rides booth. Meet the birds, the staff and sign up for some of our raffles with proceeds going to the CFRC! Mention you saw our blog when you stop by the CFRC booth and claim yourself a free prize!
